(1) The year 1991 was when I stopped bumming around San Francisco in my recently divorced state, and began a nine year stint as a resident of Burlingame CA, where I continued to play at Gulliver's Restaurant, also got a job with the school district, taught private piano and singing lessons, and worked as a music minister of a Lutheran church. The 90's were to be a fairly energetic, happy time.
(2) Been in another funk, since the 4th, housebound with a debilitating foot injury. Finally on Friday I was able to walk about town without intense pain, and today I feel almost normal at last. Also played piano for the first time since the 4th, and felt good.
(3) Today's the first day the lengthy heat spell has been disrupted, and it looks like it will reach only 75F degrees today. Feels good out there, with a gentle warm breeze. Townspeople are in good moods as well.
(4) Without getting overly political here, I am happy that the Presidential race has been transformed in such a way that I have been given a way to respond other than despair. For the first time in forever, I no longer feel powerless.
(5) One thing about having been housebound without A.C. during a heat wave, I've rediscovered the joy of drinking about ten times as much water as I do coffee. The doctor told me I'd better attend to that--something about my kidneys--so hopefully next time there will be a good report. Water is life.
