Despite the title, I am not yet looking into work on OA.
But… maybe I should. I think it's entirely possible for me to completely rewrite the fiction from the ground up… just by taking some of the parts from the beginning and using it to fuse it into something.
I also have to admit that my attraction to this Logan/Ororo story has certainly waned. I don't think I've updated in close to three years.
I feel absolutely terrible, because I know the readers probably think I abandoned the story.
And when you look at it from outside… and see how many additional stories I'm adding on my page… stories that are actually receiving the wonderful label of being 'Completed,' I know it has to leave some questions.
My goal this month will be to do better with my time management… I'm slowly getting better.
Now, before I go any further, let's get some of the acronym's resolved, hmm?
NtC = Navigating the Curve. My Peter Parker/Mary Jane Watson and Peter Parker/Jennifer Walters fanfic. In that order. Based in the Spider-Man and She-Hulk universe.
C&R I,II,III = Catch & Release, Catch & Release II, Catch & Release III. My Guy/Dawn Betterman fanfic series. Based on "The Croods" movies. I never thought it would get to where it is, but hello.
OA = Open Arms. My Logan/Ororo fanfic. Based after he died. Based solely on the comics. The movies are an atrocity that began when they picked an actor who was over 6 feet tall for Logan and one barely over 5 feet for Ororo. For clarity: Logan is 5'3". Ororo is 5'11." And her eyes are blue, for crying out loud!
New chapter for NtC needs to be started. Chapter 24 is already written, but I'm trying to stay one chapter ahead. So, work needs to start on Chapter 25. It sounds stupid almost to try to stay 1 month ahead, but I feel if I'm off 1 month, I still have a chapter done. And since each chapter of NtC is at least 10,000 words, I'd need a lot backed up to give myself a 1 month buffer.
New chapter for C&R III (Yes, I'm serious) needs to begin. Chapter 1 is written already. Work will begin on Chapter 2 soon this month.
Need to start completely rewriting OA from the bottom to the top. Starting with a brand-new outline. I have almost completely forgotten everything that I knew about the characters… however, I do have my notebook, which I thankfully still have.
However, it looks more like the notebook for C&R.
That might be unfair though… because I started C&R last year. OA started in 2020, right before NtC.
C&R's notebook is more organized too, which is sad.
Now, NtC is up to Chapter 23 uploaded.
C&R is up to the third segment of the series (with parts 1 and 2 online). It has a short for part 1, five chapters for part 2 and no clue how many chapters slated yet for part 3.
I plan on reviving Improbable… which was a Kim Possible fanfiction that I was working on under my other penname. It'll be interesting to see who recognizes that story. It was funny back then too, cos someone from the Holy See was reading it.
So… someone near the pope or the pope himself was reading Kim Possible fanfiction.
Ahem…
Though, I might be confusing that with the Buffy fanfic I wrote back then.
Never going in that direction again.
I have some vague ideas of a ST: VOY fanfiction, potentially an actual series. Which pairing I was aiming for, I've no idea. Can't remember and stupidly forgot to write it down. I might just do my Unrevealed/Unrevealed… a tag that I created for NtC.
I'm still the only one using some of my tags.
Come on now!
But… my Logan/Ororo story deserves a chance too. Because my love for that couple and not finding what I wanted to see is what led to me writing it. However, what many may not know is that I originally wrote it back in 2014 or 2015… And it was never completed. Nor was it edited correctly at all.
So, in a few days (if I have time), I'm going to re-read the X-Men comic I bought that had them on the front cover… the one that inspired me to post the story I had online. I really did my readers a disservice by not putting in actual effort and not giving them real and fresh content.
Now… my plan is this… instead of trying to fit my life and lessons around my writing… which was very stupid, might I add—The current goal is to fit my writing around my life.
My life is extremely full… of many things. It's fuller than when I was working… which is hilarious when you think about it. For reference to that… I at times worked over 40 hours a week and once did 52 hours. And I was part-time.
PART-time. Let's let that sink in…
Anyway…
What this unfortunately means… is that I need to figure out some sort of schedule starting this month… for general meal prep/cooking, normal set sleeping hours, lesson times, chore times and writing times.
Oh man…
