Today, we are going to complete our study about the framework of the Tabernacle. For the past two weeks, we've investigated the boards and the sockets. It's been surprising to see how Yahweh included Yeshua in each piece. We've learned how small pieces of wood called tenons secured the boards in the sockets. Today, the bars and rings will be our focus. This scripture is our text.:
Exodus 26:26-29 And you shall make bars of acacia wood (also called shittim wood): five for the boards on one side of the tabernacle, 27 five bars for the boards on the other side of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the side of the tabernacle, for the far side westward. 28 The middle bar shall pass through the midst of the boards from end to end. 29 You shall overlay the boards with gold, make their rings of gold as holders for the bars, and overlay the bars with gold.
We will see how Yahweh added the bars and rings to hold the entire structure in position.
We will start by looking at the definitions of the bars and rings.
Bars is Strong's #1280. And it looks like this בְּרִיחַ
Strong's Definitions בְּרִיחַ from #1272; a bolt:—bar
The letters from right to left are:
Bet/Vet 2 = Divide or Division Means: House/Family; God's word, God's dwelling place (Temple) Son of God, physical tent or body.
Resh 200 = Insufficiency, Poverty. Picture: Head Means: Head, Chief, Beginning, Highest, Most Important, a Person, Human Reasoning vs. Obedience. (When we allow human reasoning to be our master, our head, poverty of the Spirit results.)
Yod 10 = The outcome or completion of something. Means: Hand, Right Arm, Power, Right hand of God's power, a Deed Done, To Work, to Cover, Allow, Hollow, Open Hand
Chet 8 = New Beginnings. Chet means a fence, Gate, and Tent wall to Separate, Protect, and Cut off. Torah, place of refuge, quiet place, to be silent, still in security, sanctuary, inner room.
The word Bars means, (Yod) with the Right Hand of God's Power, Yahweh created a (Bet) House for His family—His Son. Through the (Yod) deed done by His Son, He overcame the (Resh) insufficiency in mankind and gave us a (Chet) New Beginning, Separated and Protected in Him.
Rings: Strong's #2885 –and it looks like this טַבַּעַת From (#2883) טַבַּעַ
Strong's Definitions טַבַּעַת from #2883; a seal (as sunk into the wax), i.e. signet (for sealing); hence (generally) a ring of any kind:—ring.
Tet 9 = Judgment. Means: Choice, Basket, Snake, Surround or Twist, entwine, ensnare, entrap, spin, roll together.
Bet/Vet 2 = Divide or Division Means: House/Family; God's word, God's dwelling place (Temple) Son of God, physical tent or body.
Ayin 70= Completion of time. Means: Eye, to See, Understand, Experience, or to be Seen, Window of the soul-good or bad (made of a Zayin and Yod—Word and Spirit).
Tav 400 = the Outcome of Trial and Testing. Picture: A Rough Cross. Means: Cross, Covenant, Seal, Mark, a Sign, Ownership, Finished or Complete.
Again, we see how Yahweh marks one of the smallest pieces created for the Tabernacle as His own.
The word Rings means (Tet) Yahweh chose to create a (Bet) House for His family. And in the completion of time (Ayin), it will be seen as the place of (Tav) Covenant, Sealed by Almighty God.
Of course, we believers know Yeshua is our Tabernacle and Holy Spirit tabernacles in us.
Psalm 91:1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. (He is our Secret Place, our Hiding Place, our Stronghold, our Refuge, etc.)
Acts 17:28 For in Him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your [own] poets have said, For we are also His offspring.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
These rings, along with all the rings in the Tabernacle, carry the same message.
Here is a drawing of the Bars and Rings. Note the five bars on each side. There is a short bar, one long central bar, and another short bar. Biblical scholars say the Central bar represents Yeshua. He is the Center of the Gospel and the Strength of the Tabernacle.
Now, we come to this last element, seen throughout the Tabernacle furniture--GOLD. It carries a unique message hidden in its letters.
Gold: Strong's #2091 -- זָהָב
Strong's Definitions זָהָב; from an unused root meaning to shimmer; gold, figuratively, something gold-colored (i.e. yellow), as oil, a clear sky:—golden, or fair weather.
Here are the letters:
Zayin 7 = completeness, Perfection, Fullness. Means: Sword of the Spirit, Dagger, Weapon or Seed, to cut off, pierce, prune, or harvest.
Hey 5 = Grace. This Means: Revelation – 5 is the number of Torah, Behold, Give Attention, unfold or look upon.
Bet/Vet 2 = Divide or Division Means: House/Family; God's word, God's dwelling place (Temple) Son of God, physical tent or body.
(Zayin) 7 is the number of Covenant. It's the number of fullness and perfection through the Bible. Zayin also represents the Sword of the Spirit—the Word of God. Yeshua is the Word made flesh who was pierced for our sins.
Psalm 22:16 For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet;
Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.
(Hey) Yeshua came to reveal God and His love for us. He came to reconcile us to Yahweh. His sacrifice gave us the grace to be saved.
John 14:7 "If, you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him."
John 14:9 "Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father…
Romans 5:7 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
(Bet) And through His life and sacrifice, we were adopted into the family of God and given a place in God's house.
John 1:12-13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Ephesians 1:4-6 He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
The Gold, seen in the Tabernacle, declares over and over,
This Tabernacle is My House.
This Tabernacle is My House of Covenant.
This Tabernacle is a picture of My Son.
This Tabernacle is a picture of My children.
Next time, we will find the treasures in the Door and the Veil. We have so much to praise Him for. It will take eternity to begin.
Shalom
