So, where were we, before I was so rudely interupted?
Ah, yes: having posted tunes from two thirds of the holy trinity (Parton and Rondstadt) next up is Emmylou Harris.
Here's some things I have learned whilst trying to decide which song of hers to post:
- She's done a lot of duets. Basically, it's a roll call of country talent: if you're not on the list then you're not coming in;
- Emmylou seems to take an almost backing vocalist/harmoniser role on many of these.
And that's not right.
So here's a song I really like which is just Emmylou, it's not (as you might anticipate when you see the title) a Springsteen cover, and she resisted the temptation to get Brooooce in on the recording session - although now I say it, I want this to happen more than anything else in the word (except maybe for Spurs to actually win a game every now and then, just to keep me interested, 'cos Lord knows it's hard right now).
So, from 1981's Cimarron album, this:
Emmylou Harris - Born To Run
More soon.
